November 2014. That was the day when I had my “Eureka” moment and Gelfand & Co. had its foundation. It was definitely a crazy business idea, having known that the market for Minimalist Luxury Watches is a War Zone.
It was like fighting with the tiger inside the Colosseum. But I was ready for the rumble. And that’s why I started this journal, to keep everything transparent and crystal clear with Gelfand & Co’s awesome customers.

I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and moved to New York, USA with my family when I was merely two years old. Being an ambition-driven person, I tried my hand in different fields - from graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Economics to completing major pre-med courses to become a doctor.
However, the bevy of dreams drove me to start something on my own. And with the help and partnership of one of my close friends, I started my first business. Kick-started by moving to South Carolina, since the warehousing and inventory costs were way lower than in NYC. Worked our behinds day in and day out to make something out of nothing, only to give in to my business partner’s Call it quits attitude.
It was one of the turning points of my life (also the biggest lesson). Growing up I had infinite dreams.
I strived day in and day out - Burned the candle at both ends to turn ‘our’ business into a multi-million dollar company, which we did within 3 years. Unfortunately, a good run came to a sudden halt. It was like driving towards a similar goal, a known destination, but we were driving on the wrong side of the road the entire time. We ultimately had to call it quits because of cropping differences. Things don’t progress in life in the absence of a right partner, whether it is personal or business.

The sudden slump did not trump me. In fact, I knew I was meant to do something awesome on my own. So, I moved back to New York and start a business based on my interest and love - Fashion and Ecommerce. Luxury means expensive - be it clothes, shoes or even watches. Luxury watches, with exquisite design and craftsmanship, come with a Whopping Price Tag. I wished to make luxury affordable for everyone who appreciates style, elegance, and chicness. And that thought and goal led to the creation of Gelfand & Co. Minimalist Luxury Watches for Men & Women!

What’s Next For Gelfand & Co?2018 is going to be the most crucial and enthralling year for me and my team at Gelfand & Co. We’ve got lots in store to work for and look forward to. New collections, designs, collaborations and a bevy of customers to garner. Our goal is to disrupt this tough market of Minimalist Luxury Watches and etch out a niche of our own.
